Every year, the Columbus Coalition for the Homeless hosts a brunch on Mother's Day that honors the often forgotten homeless mothers and their families that live in this city. For a moment in time, these women are made to feel special and that there are people that care about them.
For many months before the event, a caring group of men and women come together and begin planning. Some of them will work on getting corporate sponsors and businesses to donate gifts. Others will work on getting food, volunteers and the events for the day. After months of work, it all comes together in a special day these women will remember for a lifetime.

This year we did something new. For me, it was one of the most special events of my life. I got some friends together, five talented professional photographers, assistants and helpers. They set up studio lighting, back drops and while I was shooting the event, they were shooting family and individual portraits. In about a three hour period, they shot, printed and framed over two hundred portraits and gave them to the individuals.
The event they all put together.
